Tomorrow I will have a new post.
Because today, I've played with 4 little kids and now I am enjoying a glass of wine!
Whew!
But we've all had fun!
And I might just enjoy a whole bottle of wine before the night is over because we've all had fun!
And it's almost bedtime for 4 little kids! Yeeeeeeehaw!

There's a First Time For Everything!
Today all the boys had their first professional haircuts. I've always just buzzed them. But recently, ya know since he's now 7, LOB is starting to care about his appearance. He wanted his hair spiky! DJB wanted a mohawk. And well, DVB just plain needed a haircut. I can only do so much as an untrained barber. I guess the main reason to go the professional route was so I could watch a professional do the "fade" part of the haircut. After watching her, I think I can do it but it might take some practice. She used a scissors on the top and the fade part so I'll give it a shot in a month or 2 and see if I can duplicate it.
So anyway, I hyped them all up by showing them the Snip-Its kids haircutting place online and they all agreed to go. I will admit that they have a great set-up for kids. Movies, computer games, bribes, fun colors, cool decorations, and a special card that you scan when you are all done for a special prize. $12.95 isn't too awful for a kids cut I didn't think. Plus I had a $3 off coupon per kid that I printed off their website. Now if I only would have tipped the gal correctly I might feel ok about this new adventure. I bought the styling products she recommended. I'm a sucker for that stuff. But this kids stuff has spf in it which I've never seen before in regular adult hair products. So while I was trying to wrangle the unruly 18 month old, the gal told me the total and stupid me who is terrible at math to begin with ran a quick 15% off the total in my head for the tip. Ya, so she made a tip on the hair products too! Stupid me! Oh well, everyone deserves a little bonus every once in a while, right? Not that a couple bucks is a huge bonus...
So since it was our first experience at a salon, I had to shoot a couple pics. I took a ton of pics of DJB and DVB but while LOB was getting his hair cut, I was mostly chasing DVB and apologizing to the other kids and parents in the waiting area for DVB's wild behavior. Man, I got some pretty nasty looks from parents whose kids were clearly never 18 months old! Sheesh!
This is a before shot...
Here's Wildman eating lollipop #3. We figured out he'd sit still if we gave him the lollipop with the wrapper on it!

And here is an after shot. I feel like I got my monies worth on LOB and DVB but DJB doesn't look much different than how I do it.
Here's the only pic I got of Freckle Face! Sorry LOB, you waited 7 years for a real haircut and I only took one pic!
This is DJB's after shot! He got a faux-hawk since his hair wasn't long enough for a mohawk!
Here's Wildman eating lollipop #3. We figured out he'd sit still if we gave him the lollipop with the wrapper on it!
So that was our excitement for the day. Oh that and we saw a roadrunner on the way out of our neighborhood. It's not everyday I have my camera with me and see a roadrunner!
Anyone want to come over for a haircut so I can practice a "fade?"

Happy 7th Birthday, LOB!
I can't believe my first born son is 7 years old today.
We've been doing a lot of celebrating these last few days.
When we were making his special birthday breakfast this morning, DJB said, "It's his birthday again?" These poor kids are confused. They may live their whole lives thinking that they celebrate their birthdays for days on end!
His birthday outfit from Grammy and Grandpa complete with real Dickies shorts! Oh no, he's starting to realize that there is name brand clothing!
Here's cousin J lighting up the cake. His dad (A) turned 31 (?) on the 21st so LOB let him share half of the cake with him!
I think that's LOB...and his godmother!
There, that's a better picture. He's taken quite a fancy to soda since he's spent some time with Grammy and Grandpa. I bought the grape Welch's because it reminded me of my childhood. I remember my grandmas buying it for us. Do you Uncle B? Yummy!
We should have had a fire extinguisher on hand...I think that maybe LOB got to blow out 38 candles!
Here's some of our company enjoying a round of Mario Kart. I'll admit, it's really fun! It's even more fun after a few drinks, right P?
We'll keep celebrating for a few more days and they'll we'll have to put a stop to all this partying!
LOB picked Peter Piper Pizza for his birthday dinner tonight. Actually, we compromised. He really wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese but they don't serve beer. So PPP is similar and now GOB and I can enjoy ourselves and relax while the boys go bonkers earning paper tickets to redeem for junk! They love it!

Long Overdue!
I know, I'm long overdue for a post.
We've been busy!
Two boys are home now and life picked up where we left off 4 weeks ago...
We've celebrated LOB's birthday a few days early...
Our house is a disaster...
The laundry room can't hold any more dirty laundry...
But who cares!
We're going to go find a splash pad today and have some fun. Just a momma and her 3 boys!
Maybe we'll find some time later this week to post some party pics and such. But until then, toodles! We're busy!

Deer Poop, Fur, And Nature in General
Amongst the packing and preppy to come home, the boys had a little time to explore Nature on their last day of Summerfest Part 1. (wishful thinking for an impending Part 2!)
First, this very funky moth showed up. I think it might be related to those aliens we've been seeing lately. DJB, the lover of all creepy crawly things, would not touch it! So I asked if he was afraid that it might pick him up and take off flying? He said, "yes."
Look how big this sucker is!
And then they came across some fur. It appears to be rabbit fur and I believe it may not have not survived after loosing it's fur :(
And what would a nature hike be without running into some deer poop. I bet Grandpa asked the boys what the deer had recently eaten. And I bet the boys picked it up and smelled it! Ewwwwww!
And last but not least, you see their extravagant shooting range set-up. I'm actually kind of shocked that they are Diet Coke cans and not Miller Lite or Budweiser cans!

I'm surprised they didn't send me a link as to the species and genius of this creature.

I haven't got a phone call yet from the boys telling me they are on their way home. I'm expecting it any minute...

An Early Birthday Present!
LOB's birthday theme, as I've said before, is anything to do with skateboards. The plan has been for a couple weeks that Grammy was going to take LOB shopping when they came back down to the Valley so he could pick out a skateboard for his bday present. Well yesterday Grammy took the boys to the fancy dollar store and they just so happened to come home with a skateboard. Now who would have ever thought they would have a skateboard for sale at the dollar store in Hebergaard?! I hear they plan to buy some more protective gear on Friday. And if they go to Toys r Us for it, I'm almost positive they won't come home with anything else but protective gear! Ha!
"Oh ya, I'm cool!"
LOB doesn't look too excited to share his skateboard with his little brother. I am extremely surprised that DJB didn't come home with a skateboard too. I'm sure he didn't pitch a fit at the store....nope, not DJB. I'm sure I'll hear the story tomorrow.
LOB is wishing for more skateboards for his birthday. But why would you need more than one? To start a collection, of course!
DJB must be missing his dog. Either that or he's practicing for a future Olympic event of dog dummy tossing. Who knows. It doesn't take much to keep that child entertained. If he can't play with a lizard, he might as well play with a stinky canvas retrieving dog toy!
I'm told that LOB has his bags packed and he's ready to come home tomorrow. Fair warning Grammy and Grandpa...you might have someone waking you up at the crack of dawn. I'll betcha he'll be dressed and ready to go too! And you might hear, "Are we there yet" a few million times on your way down the mountain!!

Bike Tricks and Termbites!
Yesterday was nice outside so they got to be out for the whole day. I bet Grammy was happy for that!
So they pulled a few stumps out of the ground. Under one stump they discovered a termbite (as DJB calls them) colony. Yuck!
LOB is HOLDING a chunk of termbite infested stump! Creepy!
Look how big that sucker is!
Now for some bike tricks:
Oooo, that's some pretty fancy trick riding!
Another homemade ramp...Grandpa is a little more conservative in his ramp building than Papa!
Look closely...betcha never seen anyone jump a bike on a ramp WITH training wheels on! Oh, DJB, you can ride a bike without training wheels. I'm sure of it! Just try it!

I better get back to my party prepping. LOB's 7th bday party is this weekend! He chose Tony Hawk's Boom Boom HuckJam for his theme. I'm not quite sure what that boom boom stuff all means. All I know is that it has something to do with skateboarding. And he asked for a real skateboard for his birthday.
I see some more ramp pictures coming up in our near future.

Fish Guts and Grasshoppers!
I will have to admit, thanks to Grandpa's help, we're keeping the blog afloat this summer. Why what would I have to post about when 2/3 of my children are away? But does anyone else think that Grandpa should start a blog? I do, he'd be great. He would, however, need to figure out that spell check feature that most computers have these days. hee hee
I asked LOB if his hands still smell like fish when I talked to him later this day! He said, "No, it came off in the hot tub!" Good ol' chlorine is useful after all!
Here we have Friday's adventures...or maybe it was Thursday....anywhoooo....

Look at him! Here I thought he's kinda wussy but look at him dig into that fish! yak! Next time you see him ask him how it tasted!
Now they are into catching grasshoppers! I heard they even used them as bait last week but the fish must not have been hungry for them! Good try boys!
I wonder what excitement will be in my inbox tomorrow!

ANOTHER Visit From Out of This World!
DJB has the eye now to spot UFO's! I should have known he's been waiting for his friends to come back! They even found him up at Grammy and Grandpa's.
Grandpa snapped a great pic!
I, myself, did not see the UFO this time but I did hear about it on the news. It didn't take as long to identify this flying object. It was defined right away as a weather balloon released from New Mexico, I believe.
I'm tellin' ya! DJB's got some pretty serious connections with these aliens!

Calendars, Cooking, Cleaning, Concocting, and Coloring
Like that little alliteration in the title?
So here's an update of the older boys:
Here's my Type A child. A planner, he is! I do believe it must be hereditary! He's counting down the days till he sees his momma! If you zoom up the picture you'll see on the 18th it says "Go Home!"
Who are these children? Do they belong to me? Looks like Grammy is whipping them into shape! And it looks like they are earning their keep!
I guess the story behind this is that the boys REALLY wanted to put the old race track together. Since it was a rainy day, Grandpa finally gave in. Most likely he gave in just to shut.them.up! Notice LOB is very emphatic!

Another exhibit of the Type A personality! That would be his plan/drawing of his Hebergaard 500 race track.
I couldn't leave DVB out of this post. Look, he's a miniature graffiti artist! I should have taken a picture of the dog before I gave her a bath. You see, this beautiful drawing on our floor was right next to the dog's kennel hence the red marker I discovered all over the dog's face and feet! I'm pretty sure this happened on the teenage babysitter's watch. Or maybe it was done on GOB's watch! Definitely not mine! I guess I'll just have to admit that I have a housefull of very talented artists. But man! They do start young!
