They are Always Up to Something!

So I come downstairs after giving DVB a bath and I see this:

I was only gone for 5 minutes and LOB and DJB had made a new invention! Any guesses? Yep, it's a snow making machine. In the pitcher there is water and ice and on top is a fan and it's all meticulously held in place with Teflon tape. They were sure that by morning they'd have a pitcher full of snow to play with! So after I dismantled the invention, we had a little lesson on electrocution!

In other news:

Here is LOB polishing his beer cap collection. GOB is so proud of his son's hobby.

Here he is organizing the newly polished beer caps in a mini tackle box! Um, Redneck? Yep!

And as I was trying to do some online education quizzes for work this morning, I hear a little whimper from the other room. This is where I find DVB! How in the heck?!? Who knows how he managed to get himself up there but he sure wasn't smart enough to get himself down! I'm telling ya, I foresee a trip to the ER very soon!

Nothing to Report

I don't have anything too exciting to report from our house so far this week.

I don't have any fun pictures from the weekend. Not that we had a bad weekend though. We sure enjoyed watching the Talledega NASCAR races! Sure wish we could have seen them in person like some people we know!

GOB worked in the laundry room the entire weekend. We only saw him when it was time to eat! He so nicely replumbed the entire laundry room for me! That included moving electrical lines, moving the gas line, moving the water line, and the moving dryer vent! All that so our new laundry machines could be moved to a different wall to make the room a little more functional! Aren't you jealous that I have my very own handy man AND my very own IT man? I know I'm lucky! Now the room just needs a little touch up of paint and a new shelf or two and it will be a newly remodeled and beautiful laundry room!

All is well with the boys. No more graffiti work or other malicious acts to report! That's a very good thing!

I'll update when I get some blog worthy material!

Grafitti Artists!

If you leave a can of spray paint outside, what do you suppose could happen with it?

Oh, this?

Well why would you ever think that?

GOB: "Whose idea was this?"

Kids simultaneously: "LOB, DJB, Ang (neighbor)!"

LOB: "Ang said to write our names on the wall."

DJB: "I was trying to paint a lizard."

GOB: "You are all grounded!"

LOB: "Grounded from what?"

GOB: "I don't know yet!"

Harmonicas, Horticulture, Hiding, and a Happy Birthday!

So since I've been slightly negligent in my posting for the week, I thought I'd wrap up the week in one post!

We celebrated Papa's 35th birthday last night.

DJB has taken up horticulture these days. That boy is always wanting to try a new hobby. Uncle Brent and Aunt Jos got him a banana plant growing kit for his birthday. He's pretty sure it's going to start growing bananas any day now. I'm afraid to tell him that's it's actually a banana herb plant of some kind and doesn't produce fruit!
This morning he found two weeds with flowers on them in the backyard and decided to transplant them into the bowl he first ate strawberries out of. He's sure they are going to grow very large also and smell beautiful!

DJB and DVB have found a new hiding place. Note to self, if you can't find the boys look in the bureau by the front door!

DVB wanted to help me find all the good grocery deals for the week. Now if I could only trust him with a pair of scissors to clip all my coupons that have been piling up!

And finally, DVB has given up the recorder in exchange for the harmonica! He can really play it too! I'll try to catch some video footage of it!

Uh oh, I haven't included any of LOB's adventure's for the week. I'll try harder next week.

Redneck Weekend Fun!

We just had our bi-annual Redneck Weekend last weekend! Otherwise known as the NASCAR Subway Fresh Fit 500 or something like that.

This is...

a view from our campsite of the track.

where we set up camp with 3 Coaches(not called campers, rvs, or motorhomes), our pop-up trailer, and one tent in a truck and a whole bunch of extra junk! We had lots of space this year. It looked like the economy had pinched the NASCAR fans too and about a 1/3 of them were missing. So sad...

where we hold down lawnchairs for a few days.

where even the dog gets to go on vacation and eat leftover pancakes and sausage and steak and zero dog food the whole weekend!

where we watch a bunch of drunk people race shopping carts and roll each other in garbage barrels down the road until the cops show up and put an end to it even though "it's not illegal", says the cop and the on site grocery store, Bashas, can't pick up the carts until tomorrow. Could you imagine that a wayward barrel just happened to get off the track and hit a very nearby 5th wheel. A leeetle too close to our camp! Thus, you see this...

where Tuffy takes a seat to watch the drunks race and to make sure they don't run into HIS coach!

when you wonder what the heck is this? This would be hundreds, maybe thousands of grasshoppers! And when we make a mental note to never camp underneath the flood lights!

where GOB usually only takes a few naps, never a whole night's sleep.

where 3 boys sleep with their coats and sweatshirts and jeans on.

And when their momma might possibly have the biggest pile of dirty laundry to do when the weekend is over! If you are looking for me, I'll be buried under the laundry for a couple days. Thank goodness I just got a new washing machine and dryer 2 weeks ago! I bet this new set will at least cut my laundry time in half!

The next Redneck Weekend is scheduled for November this year. Wanna come spend it with us?

Wonderful News!

Remember when I was so mad about DJB not getting all day Kindergarten without having to pay for it? Well guess what? The State decided to fund it and the school called me today to let me know he'll get to go to full day K and not have to pay! Yeeeeeeeeehawwwww! I'm just a little excited, can you tell?

NASCAR camp is set up I hear. LOB, DVB, and I were going to go out after school today but the wind is rather blustery and I'd rather sleep in my non-movable, non-shakeable, non-noisy house/bed and get a good night's sleep. DJB and GOB left this morning but returned home 2 minutes later with a broken axle part on the trailer. I'm not too sure of the details but Mr. Fixit GOB rigged something up and an hour later, they were on the road again.

Chicken Pops Boy now has a fever, sore throat, and a (thankfully brief) episode of puking! There's no new pops today. It seems like his symptoms are a little backwards with the pops popping up first but I guess he just wants to be different!

Chicken Pops!

Would you believe that DVB has the "chicken pops" (as DJB calls them)! He got the vaccine on March 25th which can cause a breakthrough case of them but the doctor thinks it's too late to expect a reaction from the vaccine. So she thinks he was exposed recently and since he doesn't get a booster of the vaccine till he's 4 or 5, he can still get them! So now he's got them and he won't need the booster shot! Of course, he's contagious so we're drilling anyone and everyone who we will be in contact with this week to make sure they have been vaccinated! He has a very mild case with only about 12 of the pops.

Here I thought maybe I gave him mumps or measles. I had a titer drawn a couple weeks ago for my job and the titer came back negative which meant I wasn't immune to measles, mumps, and rubella! So I got a dose of that vaccine and get another one in 3 weeks. I also had to get a tetanus shot. So we should be vaccinated up around here and able to fight off all this funky stuff!

Ok, back to packing...I did get the grocery store/Sam's club run done today!

No Time For Blogging This Week Either!

We're busy busy busy around here this week too! I thought I'd share some Easter pictures before it gets to be Halloween or something!

Easter Bunny Loot!

DVB loved smashing the eggs!

The Boys after an Easter Egg Hunt at the park!

LOB charting their course when they got the green light!

LOB making sure DJB understands the plan...

DVB was more interested in roaming around than picking up eggs...

"Oh, what's this?"

DVB found a new spot to hide from his brothers. The only problem is, he's too big! This is going to be the boy who will be sending us to the ER for the first broken bone or stitches! Miraculously, we haven't visited the ER for one of the boys yet! I sure hope I didn't just jinx us!

So you won't be hearing from me for the rest of the week unless I log on at NASCAR later this week. I've got a TON of packing to do the next couple days. I haven't even started and as you can imagine with 3 kids, we take just about the whole house with us plus a grocery store!

No Time To Blog This Week...

Sorry, no time to post this week! I'm back at work! Yes, a REAL job! No more loafing at home! Ha! Well, actually I have a lot of daytime training I have to do to get back in the swing of things and then I'll only be working every other Saturday and Sunday morning doing Mammo where GOB works. Where WE work....

Maybe later this week I'll get time to put up some pics from our fun weekend of Easter Egg hunting at our local park and playing outside in our perfect weather....but until then, think of me as I get back into the groove of things. You wouldn't think much would change in 5 years out of the business but it has.

There's a Spider On Your Head!

If I hear, "There's a spider on your head," or "Mom, look there's something on that roof," or "You're not my friend anymore," one more time I might just go bonkers! I realize these little innocent jokes aren't anything like my little brother used to play on me April Fool's Day. He once put saran wrap over the toilet seat. Then there was the time he put food coloring in my very expensive perfume. Those are the only two I can recall but I'm sure the jokester played more than those two April Fools on me during our years at home!

Now if I were only witty and clever enough to come up with a good one of my own.....
